Tabo valley records coldest night of the season at -7°C

Tabo village, located in the tribal district Lahaul and Spiti, was gripped by an intense cold wave as it recorded minus 7°C, making it the lowest temperature till now in the state during the ongoing winter season. Minimum temperatures were also down in most parts of the state, mainly the higher reaches of Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba, Kullu, Kangra and Shimla districts.

Weather was mostly dry across the state during the last 24 hours, with most of the state witnessing a clear sunny sky. Minimum temperatures in most of the places of the state were below 2°C to 5°C and were in the range of minus 7°C to 13°C while maximum temperatures were mostly normal, between the range of 12°C to 28°C.

Shimla recorded 8.2°C minimum temperature while Dharamsala recorded 9.4°C. Similarly, Manali recorded 2.5°C, Mandi 6.3°C, Bilaspur 8.5°C, Hamirpur 5.6°C, Solan 2.6°C, Kangra 6.5°C, Nahan 9.5°C, Bhuntar 3.5°C, Sundernagar 4.5°C, Narkanda 2.6°C, Reckong Peo 2.2°C, Kasauli 10.9°C, Paonta Sahib 13°C, Kalpa minus 0.4°C, Kukumseri minus 3.1°C and Keylong minus 3.3°C. Meanwhile, Una recorded 27.8°C maximum temperature and was the hottest place in the state.

As per the State’s Meteorological Department, weather across the state will continue to remain dry till November 19. However, minimum and maximum temperatures are very likely to remain normal during this period.
