Taking steps to develop Kareri as tourist destination: Pathania

Deputy Chief Whip and Shahpur MLA Kewal Singh Pathania on Thursday attended the annual prize distribution function of the Government Senior Secondary School, Kareri, under Shahpur Assembly constituency as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, he said appropriate steps were being taken for the development of Kareri region from tourism point of view. He said in the coming days, the trekking trails and Khabru waterfall would be a sought-after destination for tourists coming from other states.

Pathania highlighted the unprecedented works in the field of education undertaken by the present government. Pathania asked teachers to make efforts to enrol more children in the school. He said now sujects were being taught in English in all government schools from Class I onwards so that children could be better prepared for the challenges of the future. He said in the coming time, the state government would establish one model day boarding school in each Assembly constituency.

Earlier, the school principal, Pawan Kumar Sharma welcomed the chief guest and also gave information about the annual activities of the school. On the occasion, a colourful cultural programme was presented by students. The chief guest honoured meritorious students by giving them prizes. Panchayat pradhan Sushma Devi, deputy pradhan Kartar Chand, Public Works Department Executive Engineer and a large number of students attended the function.
