Shimla, May 30

With 18 new cases, the total number of coronavirus cases in the state has risen to 309, including 204 active cases and five deaths.

MANDI DRIVER INFECTED

  • A driver of Nagvain in Mandi has tested Covid-19 positive at the PGI, Chandigarh.
  • He had met with an accident a few days ago when he was on his way to Delhi from Mandi
  • Due to injuries, he had been under treatment at PGI

  • His sample was found positive on Saturday

The new cases comprise nine in Hamirpur, five in Kangra, three in Solan and one in Una. Hamirpur continues to be the worst-affected district with 107 cases, including 70 active cases and 36 cured. Of the nine new patients in Hamirpur, eight had returned from Delhi while one had come from Jalandhar.

5 more cases in Kangra

Five more persons have tested Covid-19 positive in Kangra, taking the tally in the district to 78.

The patients include a man from Agar village near Khundiya, a Ramnagar villager, another man from Dashlun Lambagaon village near Jaisinghpur and a man belonging to Bhalera village, Jawali. All had come from Delhi and Gurugram

They have been shifted to the Covid containment centre in Dadh. Meanwhile, four patients tested negative and were discharged from the centre.

Baddi boy infected

Two Delhi returnees, who were in quarantine at Ramshehar in Nalagarh, tested Covid positive, taking the count of positive cases in Solan district to 26

An 11-year-old boy tested Covid positive at Baddi. His mother had also tested positive on May 28. The family comprising husband, wife and their two children had arrived from Shamli in Uttar Pradesh on May 23 in a pick-up utility vehicle, said Medical Officer, Solan, Dr NK Gupta.
