Tauni Devi civil hospital in Hamirpur gets equipment worth Rs 1.7 crore

Hamirpur, July 11

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur today inaugurated a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) machine and other health equipment installed at Rs 1.7 crore at the Civil Hospital at Tauni Devi in the district.

He said Rs 1.7 crore had been spent on various machines to provide the facilities of ultrasound, portable X-ray, ECG and doppler tests.

The MP Mobile Health Service was available in the Hamirpur constituency. He added that in 2018, three vehicles were provided under the MP Mobile Health Service in the parliamentary constituency but now 17 health vans were engaged.

He said that free health check-up, treatment and medicines were being provided to people through the health vans. So far, seven lakh people had benefited from the scheme in the past four years.

He added that besides Hamirpur, the MP Mobile Health Service was also available in Chamba, Sirmaur and Mandi districts.

Anurag said Mahila Mandals and panchayati raj institutions should be engaged to launch a campaign to create awareness about breast cancer, besises a TB awareness drive. Earlier, he inspected the ongoing construction work of the buildings of Dr Radhakrishnan Government Medical College at Jol Sappad, near here.

He also inaugurated an automatic sanitary napkin production unit established under the Swachh Bharat-Swasth Bharat Mission at Nadsi village.

He said self-help groups should make women aware about self-hygiene.

The government had started schemes to make youth self-reliant and encourage them to take up entrepreneurship.
