Tea garden to Tinseltown: Big screen debut of Dinesh Butail

Dinesh Butail, a prominent tea grower and resident of Palampur, has brought pride to his hometown by stepping into the world of cinema. His long-cherished dream has come true with a role in the upcoming Bollywood film “Daadi Ki Shaadi”, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Aashish Chauhan, who hails from Shimla.

Butail plays the role of a doctor in the film, which boasts a star-studded cast, including Kapil Sharma, Neetu Kapoor, Sadiya Khatib, Nitu Singh and Riddhima Kapoor, daughter of the late Rishi Kapoor. Notably, this film marks Riddhima Kapoor’s bollywood debut, making it a landmark project for both debutants.

Director Aashish Chauhan, known for his work on bollywood hits like Khiladi 786, has completed filming the movie entirely in Shimla. Butail successfully wrapped up his scenes alongside the lead cast, making a promising entry into the film industry.

“Daadi Ki Shaadi” is set to have its world premiere on Netflix and is expected to be released soon. For Dinesh Butail, this role is more than a debut — it’s a significant step toward realising his cinematic aspirations and a proud moment for the people of Palampur.
