Teachers learn about Right to Education Act

Chamba, August 1
A workshop on the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, was jointly organised by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Delhi, and the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) in Chamba on Wednesday. The event witnessed the participation of 120 heads from government and private schools of the district.
Chamba Assistant Commissioner to Deputy Commissioner PP Singh was the chief guest at the event.
Deputy Education Officer Gyan Chand welcomed the chief guest and all participants, providing an overview of the workshop. The event commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
In his address, Singh talked about how teachers could create a fear-free learning environment for students.
In the first session, DIET lecturer Kavita Bijlwan discussed Section 17 of the act with teachers, focusing on child psychology. In the second session, Pawan Thakur of Government Post Graduate College, Chamba, shared insights on teacher-student dynamics based on child psychology. — OC
