The Una district’s Unemployed JBT and DLEd Association on Thursday protested the notification by the National Council for Education and Training to allow BEd teachers to compete for jobs through the Junior Basic Teachers (JBT) Commission. The association leaders said there was a huge difference in JBT and BEd training curriculum and even the minimum qualification for both was different. As such, they said the BEd trained teachers should have an upper hand in the tests for jobs conducted by Junior Basic Teachers Commission, as compared to JBTs.
Students win abacus competition
Students of Shivalik International Convent School, Nangal Chowk, proved their caliber in abacus event, which was organised by Max Buddy Abacus. Managing Director of the school Malkiat Singh Rana distributed trophies and medals among the participants and appreciated their efforts. He said abacus inculcated fast learning and sharpened the mind.
Farewell at Dagshai Public School
Dagshai Public School organised a farewell party for Class XII and a “blessing ceremony” for Class X. Music and dance marked the events. After lunch, students enjoyed a jam session. The title of Miss Elegant went to Seerat Sharma (X) and that of Mr Suave was clinched by Bikramjit Sachar (X). The Miss DPS crown was bagged by Tina Bharti (XII) and Mr DPS title was bagged by Kaushal Kapoor (XII). Students were excited by the unique titles and captions given to them. Principal Jaspal Singh Saluja, Vice Principal Simran Thapar and Administrative officer Jaspal Kaur Saluja were felicitated by Class XII students. The principal gave best wishes to students of the board classes.
Farewell to seniors
Students of DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Rehan, organised a farewell party for their seniors on Wednesday. Seniors were honoured by giving titles. Later, passing of the lamp ceremony was organised. Awards were given to seniors keeping in mind their caliber and capability that they displayed throughout the session. Rakshitwas was declared Mr Farewell and Ritika Chambial Miss Farewell. Principal Rashmi Jamwal and other faculty members wished all students luck for their future endeavours.
