Tejaswini of Mandi selected for national Republic Day Camp
Tejaswini Singh, a cadet from Madhdhar village in Mandi district, has been selected for the prestigious National Republic Day Camp (RDC) in Delhi. She is the only cadet chosen under the “Best Cadet” category from among participants from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Representing the Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron (Kullu), Tejaswini will showcase her skills at the national event, bringing pride to her state.
Tejaswini hails from a family with a deep-rooted tradition in NCC excellence.
Her grandfather, Gurusai Singh, and father, Flying Officer Dr Chaman Lal Kranti Singh, both served as NCC cadets and Senior Under Officers. Her father currently serves as an Associate NCC Officer with the Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron (Kullu), while her mother, Sharmila Singh, is an AYUSH Pharmacy Officer.
A Class X student at DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi, Tejaswini’s exceptional performance in shooting, written exams, drill and cultural programmes earned her the Best Cadet title. She has undergone extensive training, participating in various camps — including the Annual Training Camp and Combined Annual Training Camp-I & II. Tejaswini also excelled in the Inter-Group Competition RDC-2025 at NCC Academy, Rupnagar, Punjab.
In addition to her NCC achievements, Tejaswini has represented the state in Taekwondo at the national level, and won medals in Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, Judo, Karate and shooting competitions.
