The HP High Court has directed the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) to issue necessary directions to all the Superintendents of Police in the state with a direction to further issue the same to all the Investigating Officers (IOs), to mention stage of the case(s), if any, found to be registered against the person, who has approached the court, for bail, so that these facts could be presented before the court.

Justice Virender Singh passed this direction while dealing with a bail application filed in an NDPS case wherein the police has opposed the bail application on the ground that three other FIRs are also registered against the bail applicant without verifying the factual position.

The court further directed all the Superintendents of Police to update their record, up to November, 30, 2024 with a further direction to complete this exercise on or before March, 31, 2025.
