A Tempo traveller parked near Sanora on the Rajgarh–Solan road caught fire on Tuesday late night, resulting in the death of its driver, who was reportedly asleep inside the vehicle at the time.

Sources said the identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, though preliminary information suggests he was a resident of Chirgaon in Shimla district.

Teams from Rajgarh police station and Yashwantnagar police post reached the spot soon after the alert and took possession of the body.

With the cause of the fire still unclear, a forensic science team from Junga, Shimla, was called in to collect evidence and assist in the investigation.

Rajgarh SHO Rajvinder Singh confirmed the incident and said further action is in progress.
