Thanadhar pradhan named on key panel
After winning two national panchayat awards, Thanadhar gram panchayat has achieved another feat.
Sandeep Shroal, pradhan of the panchayat, has been included in the 22-member national advisory committee of pradhans and ex-pradhans, who have been chosen from all over the country on the basis of their work. Shroal is the only pradhan in the committee from the state.
“The Quality Council of India held Sarpanch Samvad in Delhi, in which 75 gram panchayat pradhans from all over the country were invited. From among these pradhans, some, including me, have been inducted into the advisory committee,” said Shroal. He added that the advisory committee gives suggestions to the Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Rural Development from the ground level on how to improve the schemes and make these more effective.
“Besides, the panel trains pradhans in efficient and effective working,” said Shroal.
Thanadhar panchayat had won two national awards. It won second prize in ‘Socially Just and Socially Secured Panchayat’ category and third prize in Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar.
