Three-day traditional fair inaugurated in Theog
Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) Chairman RS Bali today inaugurated the three-day historic Shri Chikhdeshwar Mahadev Rishi Panchami Deorighat fair at Theog in Shimla district.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Bali congratulated people of the state for preserving their rich culture and traditions. He said it was praiseworthy that the younger generation was making efforts to protect their traditions and culture. “The state government is committed to preserve and promote Himachal’s cultural heritage through various fairs and festivals,” said Bali.
Bali instructed tourism officials present on the spot to get published a coffee table book and establish a photo gallery showcasing Dev Parampara culture in each district of the state.
He said these galleries should be established in all hotels of the Tourism Department to enable tourists experience the Dev culture.
The chairman announced Rs 5 lakh from the Tourism Department funds and Rs 1 lakh from his discretionary fund for the mela committee. Later, Bali inspected the Tourism Department’s hotel at Fagu and issued directions to officials concerned for its renovation.
