In order to ensure effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri School for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme in the state, school heads of Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur and Kinnaur, along with district nodal officers, will be trained at a three-day workshop that commenced here today at Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Relations (HIPA).

The workshop was inaugurated by Sandeep Sharma, Training In-charge at HIPA.

On this occasion, Shimla DPO Dr Anita Sharma, shared her thoughts on quality education. District nodal officers Rekha Thakur from DIET-Shimla, Monica Walia from DIET-Sirmaur, and Rita Thakur from DIET-Solan were also present.

Dr Suresh Thakur, the state Nodal Officer for PM SHRI, elaborated on these and their importance. In the final session, DIET-Shimla Principal Jaydev Negi was present as a resource person and discussed the National Education Policy and National Curriculum Framework in detail.

In Himachal, as many as 180 schools have been selected under the PM SHRI scheme.

These schools will ensure the holistic development of children in line with the provisions of the National Education Policy.

Under this scheme, schools will be equipped with basic amenities as well as smart classrooms, science labs, libraries and playgrounds.
