Three-day workshop on disaster management in Shimla

A three-day crowd management training camp workshop on disaster management was organised here. The camp was inaugurated by Shimla’s Additional District Magistrate (Protocol)-cum-Chief Executive Officer District Disaster Management Authority Jyoti Rana. She welcomed the subject experts and concerned departmental officers and employees in the camp.

She said the training camp was being organised on an important subject under disaster management, the aim of which is to prevent stampede-related disasters in Shimla district. During the three-day camp, efforts will be made to make the trainees aware of all important aspects related to crowd management so that possible disasters can be dealt properly.

Subject expert Col VN Supnekar spoke in detail on the concept of incident response system, concept of mass event management, threat, vulnerability and risk assessment. He also invited suggestions and questions from the officers and employees present there. After the workshop, all participants visited Kalibari Temple and discussed the aspects of crowd management prevention.
