The North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala — a premier institution promoting the art and culture of the country — organised a Tiranga Yatra at Dronacharya College, Rait, in commemoration of the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.

According to Rajesh Bakshi, North Regional Coordinator, the yatra began from the college and passed through Rait Bazaar, Chambi, Ladwada and Rajol, before culminating at Banoi. Around 50 bikers and 130 college students participated in the rally, carrying the Tricolour with pride.

As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Tiranga Yatras are being held at various locations from August 2 to 15, with the goal of hoisting the national flag in every home. District coordinator Dr Janamjay Guleria said the aim is to instill a spirit of patriotism among citizens and raise awareness about the significance of the Indian national flag.

The organisers also reminded participants that August 8 marks the anniversary of the launch of the Quit India Movement in 1942 — a pivotal moment in India’s freedom struggle. “Independence did not come easily; it was earned through the struggles and sacrifices of countless brave warriors,” they said.

The college principal, faculty and staff members also joined the yatra, adding to the enthusiasm of the event.
