Tourists create ruckus at toll barrier near Parwanoo
Tourists created a ruckus at the Tipra inter-state toll barrier near Parwanoo over a dispute related to a receipt slip last night.
“Sunil, who was deputed at the barrier, lodged a complaint with the Parwanoo police, following which a case of rioting, unlawful assembly, intentionally insulting someone to provoke the breach of peace and mischief was registered against the occupants of two vehicles,” said SP, Solan, Gaurav Singh.
Sunil told the police that there were three toll posts at the barrier. Around midnight, two vehicles bearing registration numbers (DL10C Z7111) and (HR 12 AK 9969) arrived at the barrier and their occupants started arguing with the staff posted there and abusing them on not getting a receipt slip.
After some time, one of them removed the boom barrier and both vehicles crossed it and went towards the Timber Trail resort. After some time, they came back from the lane leading to Chandigarh and parked their vehicles near the barrier. They got into a fight with the staff and pelted the toll booth with stones, damaging it and the computer system installed there. They then left in their vehicles for Chandigarh without paying the toll and after creating a ruckus.
