Traffic diversions for Jan Sankalp Sammelan in Mandi today
One-way traffic restrictions to be in place from 7 am to 6 pm
Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan has issued a set of temporary regulations under Section 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during the Jan Sankalp Sammelan scheduled to be held at the Paddal Ground in Mandi tomorrow. These special arrangements will remain in effect from 7 am to 6 pm.
According to the orders, the entry of all heavy vehicles into Mandi city from Khalyar, Bindravani, Chakker, and Talyahad will be strictly prohibited during this period. Besides, the taxi and auto parking areas outside the Mandi Bus Stand will remain temporarily closed.
According to Devgan, route diversions and one-way traffic regulations will be made. Buses coming from Talyahad towards the Mandi Bus Stand will be routed one-way via the Sanyardi bypass, Kehanwal Chowk, and Pulgharat. Light vehicles will continue to use this route as usual. Buses travelling from Mandi to Talyahad will move one-way through the Skodi Bridge and the Jail Road, with no changes for small vehicle movement in this direction.
The Gandhi Chowk-Victoria Bridge road stretch will be a one-way route for light motor vehicles while two-wheelers and three-wheelers will be exempted from this restriction. Vehicles entering the city from the Victoria Bridge side will be diverted via the Old Mandi Road. Traffic from the ITI Chowk towards the Mahamrityunjay Chowk and the Mandi Market will be one-way via the Old Suketi Bridge while vehicles moving from the market toward the ITI Chowk through the Mahamrityunjay Chowk will use the New Suketi Bridge as a one-way corridor.
From Pulgharat and the Vegetable market in Mandi towards the Malori road, buses and heavy vehicles will be allowed only in one direction whereas the movement of small vehicles will be permitted depending on real-time traffic conditions.
Devgan has appealed to all motorists and residents to cooperate with the administration and follow the temporary traffic arrangements tomorrow. The aim of these measures is to ensure that traffic during the Jan Sankalp Sammelan remains orderly and safe.
