The BRO restored the highway up to Sarchu from Lahaul via the Atal Tunnel.

The HRTC has started the bus service between Udaipur and Keylong. The bus service has also resumed between Keylong and Killar in the Pangi region of Chamba district.

Mangal Manepa, Regional Manager of HRTC Depot at Keylong, told The Tribune that bus service would be resumed between Kullu and Keylong within two days.

“I inspected the highway from Keylong to the north portal of the Atal Tunnel and found it unfit for the plying of buses. Due to icing on the road, it would be risky to resume the bus service in mornings or evenings. We are planning to resume the service between Kullu and Keylong in the afternoons,” said Manepa.

He said the bus service had been resumed between Keylong-Udaipur, Keylong-Miyar valley, Keylong-Salgran and Keylong-Killar in Lahaul Spiti. As soon as snow was cleared from the road up to Darcha, the last village of the Lahaul valley, the HRTC would resume the bus service between Keylong and Darcha.
