A traffic school workshop was organised at Government Senior Secondary School, Duttnagar, to raise awareness about traffic rules among students and drivers on National Highway 5, as part of Road Safety Month celebrations by the Shimla police. Rampur DSP Naresh Sharma was the chief guest.
Sharma emphasised the importance of safe driving practices, such as not using phones while driving, not driving under the intoxicating substance and wearing helmets. He also explained the significance of white and yellow strips on roads.
The police and schoolchildren jointly distributed information on precautions to take while driving on NH5, including wearing seat belts and avoiding overspeeding.
Drivers were also instructed on traffic rules and their importance. The Shimla police are running a special campaign to raise awareness on road safety.
