Shimla, August 23

Following the directions of the Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh, Dr Atul Verma, a three-day ‘Training of Trainers’programme was organised by Himachal Pradesh Police’s Traffic, Tourist and Railway (TTR) unit. The programme, which concluded on Thursday, aimed to enhance the capacity, ethics, behaviour, and investigative skills of police personnel in district traffic units.

The training specifically focused on equipping officers with proficiency in the use of digital equipment and making them adept in advanced tools, thereby ensuring meticulous regulation and enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Act, rules and other laws.

The training session was inaugurated by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) TTR, Gurdev Chand Sharma, who shared insights on road safety and emphasised the critical role of trained personnel in maintaining traffic discipline. He highlighted the importance of adopting modern techniques and tools in day-to-day operations to enhance efficiency and ensure public safety.

During the programme, Additional Superintendent of Police TTR Narvir Singh Rathour, who was also the course coordinator, conducted a session on the latest amendments in the Motor Vehicle Act, rules and other laws.
