Presiding over the inaugural session of the training programme, Una District and Sessions Judge Naresh Kumar informed the participants that a free legal aid unit for providing child friendly services to the victim children has been constituted and is functional at the premises of the Una district courts where children can get free legal aid.

Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Anita Sharma stressed on the role of Para Legal Volunteers providing legal assistance to members from the weaker sections of the society at the village level in disseminating awareness among the public regarding the child friendly legal services scheme. She said the information should be disseminated in particular to the families belonging to weak and marginalised sections of the society and those who are not a part of the social mainstream.
