Training programme for accounting officers at Summer Hill, Shimla
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, competence and professionalism of its accounting workforce, the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) has commenced a comprehensive training programme at Summer Hill, Shimla, for all officers involved in accounting functions.
The programme is being organised under the aegis of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi, and focuses on the latest Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), which are mandatory for HPSEBL.
Nearly 100 officers will undergo training in two phases during the six-day programme.
Anurag Chander Sharma, Director (Finance), HPSEBL, has expressed hope that the training initiative will significantly enhance the efficiency, knowledge and sense of responsibility among the board’s accounting officers. He stated that the purpose behind the training was to equip the accounting workforce with updated knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards, resolve issues related to the board’s balance sheet, and bring greater transparency and accuracy in financial operations.
