All India Anti-Terrorist Front president Maninderjit Singh Bitta on Wednesday paid homage to Subedar Major Pawan Kumar Jariyal, who attained martyrdom in Pakistani firing in Poonch.

Bitta embraced and consoled the martyr’s mother, Kisho Devi, and spoke with his father, veteran Garjo Singh, along with other family members.

He assured them of every possible help, including facilitating a government job for the martyr’s son. “Prepare the documents. I will personally speak to the authorities concerned,” Bitta told the family.

Addressing a press conference in Dharamsala, Bitta launched a scathing attack on those who insult the Army or support anti-national elements.

He condemned individuals who dared to criticise the Armed Forces.

“The traitors within are as dangerous as enemies across the border,” said Bitta, who called for strict action against pro-Khalistani elements and praised the Armed Forces for launching Operation Sindoor.

He was accompanied by Balwinder Singh Babloo, the district president

for Kangra.
