The District Youth Services and Sports Office, Shimla, is set to conduct district-level trials and competitions at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex here on November 23 to select participants for the National Youth Festival to be held in January next year.

As per District Youth Services and Sports officials, the trials/competitions will feature folk dance (group) involving 10 participants in all boys, all girls and mixed categories. Besides, the trials will feature folk song (group) in all boys, all girls and mixed categories invloving 10 participants, story writing having stories less than 1,000 words, poetry writing, painting and declamation.

“The participants will be judged based on creativity, originality, expression and adherence. The district-level winners will advance to the state level where they will have the opportunity to participate in the National Youth Festival-2026,” said an official of the department. Interested youths have been requested to register themselves at https://forms.gle/gNpuv4ZokKnUruvc8 to take part in the festival and report to the undersigned at the sports complex on November 23 at 10 am. The department has also informed the participants that no TA/DA will be provided to them during the event.
