Tribune Edu Expo gets massive response on Day 1
To provide comprehensive guidance and opportunities to students seeking admission to universities and colleges, The Tribune Edu Expo-2025, powered by Arni University, began at Matour in Kangra district on Saturday. Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani inaugurated the two-day expo in the presence of NN Vohra, President of The Tribune Trust, Editor-in-Chief Jyoti Malhotra, and General Manager Amit Sharma.
A diverse array of regional universities, colleges, and financial institutions came together for the expo, which focused on personalised student interaction, expert counselling, scholarships and financial assistance. The event aimed at empowering students with the tools and information needed to navigate their educational journey for higher studies.
Participating institutions included Amity University, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (Jhanjeri, Mohali), Graphic Era University, ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education, Aryans Group of Colleges, Lamrin Tech Skills University, Chandigarh University, DAV University, Arni University, Sri Sai University, Shoolini University, Abhilashi University, NIET Group of Institutes, Minerva Group of Colleges, Aryans Overseas, Indus International University, GNA University and NMIMS Chandigarh, among others.
The educational institutions provided detailed information about scholarships offered by them and the government, along with guidance on management and government quota seats. They also highlighted new courses in AI and skill development.
Speaking at the event, Dharmani praised The Tribune for its unwavering commitment to responsible journalism, calling it an essential pillar for any progressive society.
The education fair drew enthusiastic participation from a large number of students from reputed institutions across the district. Students visited various information stalls and engaged with university representatives and career counsellors. Teachers accompanying them expressed satisfaction with the event’s structure and the quality of guidance provided.
The Tribune interacted with students, who described the expo as a valuable and transformative experience, offering direct and meaningful dialogue with academic institutions.
Yashica Sharma, a student from Scholars International School who scored 90 per cent in Class X, called the event “an extremely good experience”. She credited The Tribune school edition with enhancing her English language skills and vocabulary, contributing to her academic success.
Satyam Karu of Rainbow International School, Nagrota Bagwan, who scored 97.4 per cent in Class X, termed the expo an “eye-opening experience”. He appreciated the opportunity to interact with university representatives, which he believed would help him make informed academic decisions.
Kanwar Nakshatreshwar Singh from Adhunik Public School, who scored 85 per cent marks in Class X and aims to join the Merchant Navy, found the expo insightful for exploring maritime career paths. He described it as a “unique initiative that brings varied educational options under one roof”.
Vibhuti Dhiman of Tripta Public School, Chalwara, who scored 92.6 per cent in Class X and aspires to become an Army doctor, called the expo “a rendezvous of like-minded achievers seeking direction for the future”. She thanked The Tribune for connecting ambition with opportunity.
Aryan from Achievers Hub Senior Secondary School, Sidhbari, who secured 93 per cent in Class X and dreams of becoming an aerospace engineer, said the event was “a great experience that opened up new avenues and showcased emerging career opportunities”.
