Students of Rajkiya Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (RKMV), Shimla, were at their creative best during the first-ever Campus Buzz, organised by The Tribune, here today.
Girl students presented folk dances and group songs, which delighted one and all.
The event aimed at exploring the talent of students. As many as 35 girls participated in dance, singing and group competitions. Nati, giddha, classical, semi-classical, hip-hop and western dance performances were the highlights of the day.
Writer and filmmaker Devkanya Thakur, who was the judge, said: “College days are always memorable and participation in such events improves the overall personality of students”. She inspired the students to be unique. “They should bring out classical form of ‘natti’ to showcase cultural diversity of the state,” she added.
“Life is a competition and winning and losing are two sides of the same coin, but what is important is having the courage to participate,” said another Judge Dr Inder Singh Thakur, professor, language and culture department, Government College, Sanjauli. Officiating principal of RKMV Gopal Chauhan, who was the chief guest, thanked The Tribune for providing a platform to the students to exhibit their talents.
