Tributes were paid to freedom fighter Bhai Hirda Ram in Mandi district today on his 134th birth anniversary. He fought against the British rule.

A floral tribute was paid on this statue at Indira Market here by Suman Thakur, president of the Municipal Council, Mandi, Harmeet Singh Bittu district president of the VHP and other local people of the town.

Prominent writer of Mandi KK Nutan threw light on the life of the freedom fighter and his struggle for the freedom of India.

Nutan said Bhai Hirda Ram was tortured by Britishers and was sentenced to life imprisonment along with freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. He was born in November 28, 1885. — TNS
