Mandi: Tributes paid to freedom fighter Baba Kanshi Ram on his birth anniversary

In commemoration of the birth anniversary of eminent freedom fighter and revolutionary writer Baba Kanshi Ram, the Language and Culture Department, in collaboration with the United Theater Society and Art Village Organisation, presented a poignant drama at the Sanskriti Sadan in Mandi district yesterday.
Pankaj Lalit, director of the Language and Culture Department, praised the powerful staging of the drama, emphasising how the actors brought Baba Kanshi Ram’s character to life on stage. District Language Officer Promila Guleria congratulated all the artists involved, expressing hope that the play would inspire schoolchildren by acquainting them with the life of this great freedom fighter and revolutionary writer.
Daksha Sharma, the play’s director, expressed gratitude to Promila Guleria and Pankaj Lalit for the opportunity to present the play which received heartfelt applause from the audience. Rohit Sharma’s portrayal of Kanshiram was particularly lauded, along with stellar performances by Anil Mahant, Ved Kumar, Rajender Singh, Kashmir Singh, Sarita Handa, Erika Sharma and Anjali Thakur. Daksha Sharma’s direction in the role of ‘sahukaar’ left the audience deeply moved.
