Dalhousie, August 28
HP Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Hans Raj said today the process of the formation of a trust was under consideration for the beautification of ancient and historic Devi Kothi temple complex in the far-flung Churah subdivision of Chamba. He gave this information after inaugurating the Junas road in Churah.
Apart from looking after the beautification of the temple, the trust would also work for creating basic facilities for the devotees, he said. The representatives from nine panchayats of the area would be included in the trust, he added.
Famous for its splendid murals and intricate woodwork, Devi Kothi temple was built by Raja Umed Singh of Chamba (1748-64 AD) in 1754. — OC
