The Tungal Kala Manch, Mandi, organised a meeting at Kotli in Mandi district on Shaheedi Divas to honour Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. The event, chaired by manch president Bhuvnesh Thakur, also focused on preparations for the upcoming Tungal Mahotsav on April 5-6.

Former District Attorney Netar Singh Katoch lit a lamp and offered floral tributes to Bhagat Singh, as the gathering chanted “Bhagat Singh Amar Rahe.” Addressing the audience, Katoch emphasised the importance of preserving the revolutionaries’ legacy by building a progressive India.

Prashant Mohan, founder of Tungal Kala Manch, highlighted the festival’s role in reviving folk traditions. He announced that the two-day event would showcase local artists performing folk dances, songs and plays.

President Bhuvnesh Thakur shared that the festival would commence with a grand ‘Jaleb’, a procession of musicians and artistes marching through Kotli Bazaar. Traditional performances would follow at the main venue, celebrating the region’s cultural heritage. The meeting served as a tribute to Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice while promoting the preservation of local folk culture.
