Shimla, June 3
With 12 new cases being reported in the state today, the total number of coronavirus cases in the state has risen to 357, including 204 active cases and five deaths.
The tribal district of Kinnaur, which had remained corona free till now, reported two cases as the natives who returned from Delhi tested positive. Both the patients are being shifted to the district Covid care centre in Kinnaur, said health official.
A 34-year-old person, a returnee from Delhi and was in institutional quarantine at Jeori in Rampur sub-division of Shimla district, tested positive for coronavirus taking the number in the district to 10. He was shifted to Covid care centre, Mashobra in Shimla, said DC Shimla Amit Kashyap.
Four test +ve in Kangra
With four persons testing positive in Kangra total number of cases in the district has gone up to 94.
Those who tested positive includes a 30-year- old, a resident of Badhal village, Fatehpur tehsil, who had returned from Madhya Pradesh on May 27 and was presently housed at institutional quarantine in Sansarpur. He was asymptomatic.
Others are a 31-year-old, who came back from Pathankot on May 28 and was in home quarantine in Gangath near Indora; a 25-year- old, a resident of Golwan, Fatehpur tehsil, at institutional quarantine at Fatehpur and a 22-year- old who travelled from Delhi by an Air India flight on May 29 and was under institutional quarantine at Fatehpur.
All of them were shifted to Covid containment centre Baijnath.
2 returnees infected in Mandi
Two youths of Sundernagar area in Mandi district were reported Covid positive at medical college, Ner Chowk.
According to Chief Medical Officer, Mandi, Jeevanand Chauhan, both youths had arrived here from Mumbai along with other six persons on May 27. One youth, a native of Jogindernagar area, was reported Covid positive yesterday. He had also travelled from Mumbai to Mandi along with these youths.
The CMO stated that both youths were aged 23 and 26 and they were kept in institutional quarantine in a private hotel. They are asymptomatic.
He said that both the patients have been shifted to dedicated Covid care centre at Dhangsidhar in Mandi for further treatment. He said four patients recovered in Mandi and were sent to their homes.
