The Himachal Pradesh University will be hosting a two-day national conference on the theme ‘Revisiting the environmental history of India: Main issues and challenges’ at its Regional Centre in Dharmashala on March 7 and 8.

The conference will also have sub-themes of topics such as relationship of early societies with environment, science, conservation and society, impact of colonial forestry on society and economy, commercialisation of forest produces and forest degradation, wildlife hunting under colonial rule and its implications, role of NGT and Pollution Control Board in India, etc.
