Palampur, April 29
Two persons, who returned to their village Thural from outside the state yesterday by procuring e-passes, were today forcibly sent to an isolation centre.
Sources said one of them had flu-like symptoms and mild temperature. Health workers asked them to home quarantine, which they refused. Later, the matter was reported to the police and both of them were forcibly shifted to an isolation centre at Kangra.
In the past two days, hundreds of persons have reached the Palampur region from Baddi, Punjab, Delhi, Chandigarh, Gurgaon and Uttarakhand. As per the guidelines, they are supposed to be home-quarantined.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Prajapati said all those who had crossed the border and reached Kangra district in the past two days had been traced. The health authorities and revenue officials were completing the process to quarantine them as per norms.
Talking to The Tribune, Prajapati said the health of the returnees had been evaluated by experts and they had been directed not to move out of their houses till their quarantine period was over.
He said police personnel and panchayat, health and Asha workers had been directed to keep a watch on them.
Notably, after facing criticism, the state government today deactivated auto-generation of e-curfew passes. Sources said if permitted, more than 1 lakh people were waiting to return to the state.
