Three persons, including two from Haryana, have been arrested with 6.9 gms of chitta (heroin) in Shimla. The accused have been identified as Kamlesh Verma (25), a resident of Rampur of Shimla district and Rajat Kumar (30) and Shubham Ghai (29), both residents of Ambala district of Haryana.
According to police, a police team were on routine patrol in Lower Khalini area, during which they spotted the three accused and stopped them for checking. During the checking, police found the contraband from their possession after which they were arrested.
Police officials said a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS), 1985, has been registered against the accused and further investigation is going on. Police said that the accused had come to Shimla to sell the contraband. “It is being investigated that from where they had procured the contraband and who they intended to sell it,” said the police.
