Two held for possessing illegal weapon

In a move aimed at curbing the use of illegal weapons, the Nalagarh police arrested two youth for illegally possessing .32 mm bore pistol last evening. Confirming the news, Additional Baddi SP Ashok Verma said a case has been registered against two youth after recovery of illegal .32 mm bore pistol from them. Acting on a tip-off, a police team recovered the weapon from two persons travelling in car (HP12M-8283) at Khera village. The accused have been identified as Luv Kumar (28) of Ratyod village and Prabhjeet Singh (32) of Handa Kundi village in Nalagarh.

The duo could not produce any license/documents for possessing the pistol on the spot following which a case has been registered against them at Nalagarh Police Station under Section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act and Section 3(5) of the BNS. Further investigation is being carried out to identify the source of the illegal weapon. The Baddi police has reiterated its stand of not sparing those possessing illegal weapons or those indulging in criminal activities as a zero tolerance policy is being adopted against the criminals. Strict action is being taken against such culprits to maintain law and order in the area, added Verma.
