The Kullu Valley has already gained notoriety for charas cultivation. Now synthetic drugs are becoming rage among locals as well as foreigners visiting this area. Sources revealed that availability of various synthetic drugs like heroin, smack, cocaine, MDM and LSD was on the rise in the Kullu valley.

Though the police had arrested various persons and made big seizures in the past, the menace of drug trafficking had not been curtailed. Earlier, foreigners and peddlers of other states were arrested with the synthetic drugs, but now local peddlers were been nabbed.

The SP claimed that the police had seized charas, besides other contraband and nabbed many accused, including foreigners, in various drug-related incidents in different parts of the district.
