Two persons from Choti Dolly village in Baijnath tehsil of Kangra district were killed in an accident in Uttar Pradesh while they were returning from Maha Kumbh. Eleven others were injured in the incident.

The accident took place on the Bundelkhand Expressway at Chilli village under the jurisdiction of Rath police station in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh this morning when the vehicle carrying pilgrims from Himachal and returning from Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj collided with a truck parked on the road. There were 13 pilgrims, including the driver, in the vehicle.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed grief over the death of the two persons. He said that the state government was in constant touch with the Uttar Pradesh Government to ensure that the injured pilgrims were given the best treatment at the nearest hospital.
