Two patients died on Monday at the Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital at Nerchowk in Mandi.
According to the medical college authorities, Vivek Shasni (36), a resident of Parini village in Kullu district, was admitted to the hospital on 27 September for treatment of COVID-19.
Dr Jeevanand Chauhan, Senior Medical Superintendent of the medical college, said that the patient was treated by urgent Hemodialysis and O2, Lasix, clonidine, Amlodipine, atenolol, Ivermectin and Doxy, Sodium Bicarbonate. The patient was stable after dialysis.
“Today, when the doctor on duty went on rounds, he found that the patient was not responding, vital signs were not recordable and brainstem reflexes were absent,” said Chauhan.
He said that another patient, Bhangu Ram, a native of Nabahi village under Sarkaghat assembly segment of Mandi district was admitted in Nerchowk hospital for the treatment of COVID-19.
Chauhan said that the families of both deceased have been informed about the death. Cremation of bodies will be conducted as per COVID protocol.
