Udaipur SADA meeting nod to key civic upgrades
A crucial meeting of the Udaipur Special Area Development Authority (SADA) was held under the chairmanship of Lahaul and Spiti MLA Anuradha Rana, focusing on critical civic issues and passing important proposals to enhance infrastructure and urban management in the Udaipur subdivision.
One of the central topics was effective waste management. Emphasising the need for segregated waste collection, the committee passed a proposal to install dustbins at three prominent locations in the town market. This aims to encourage proper disposal habits and support recycling efforts.
In a move to improve public sanitation, the committee approved the installation of a 1000-litre water tank at the public toilet to ensure continuous water supply. To enhance night-time safety and visibility, 10 new street lights will be installed at key locations in the market area. Additionally, a high-mast light will be installed at the historic Mrikula Mata Temple, benefiting both devotees and tourists.
To tackle traffic congestion and promote organised parking, a dedicated space for a taxi stand will be identified and marked, allowing for better traffic flow and convenience for both taxi drivers and private vehicle owners.
Security and communication were also key concerns. The committee approved the installation of surveillance cameras and public notice boards across the market area to improve safety and keep residents and tourists informed about important updates.
Healthcare comfort was not overlooked. Two benches will be added at the local hospital to support patients and their families while they wait. New chairs will also be purchased for the SADA office to enhance working conditions and public service efficiency.
Addressing water scarcity, new handpumps will be installed in areas facing limited water access. MLA Anuradha Rana reiterated her dedication to Udaipur’s development, calling for community participation and timely execution of the proposals. The approved projects are expected to be rolled out in the coming months, promising significant improvements to the town’s civic amenities and infrastructure.
