Shimla, August 4
The Shimla Municipal Corporation today removed 12 unauthorised street vendors and hawkers from various markets of the state capital.
During an inspection, a nine-member team, led by Tehbazari Inspector Jyoti Prakash, found six unauthorised street vendors in Lower Bazaar, two each in Ram Bazaar, Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) road and the area near the lift. The team also confiscated goods from the vendors.
Jyoti Prakash said a strict action was being taken against such street vendors in the town. He said most of the street vendors were from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh and New Delhi.
