Objections raised by the National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) regarding the registration of the BEd courses at Government Vallabh College here have put a cloud of uncertainty over the courses. The NCTE Northern Committee has raised objections regarding faculty and land ownership.
At a recent meeting of the committee, recommendations were made to cancel the registration of the college for the BEd courses. The BEd courses here were conducted under a society structure, with 100 seats available.
Principal Surina Sharma said she’s aware of the objections raised by the NCTE committee. However, she clarified that the college has not received any official communication regarding the cancellation of its registration for BEd courses. She added that once an official order is received, the college will decide on the steps to be taken.
The uncertainty surrounding the status of the courses has left students and faculty members anxious.
