Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today lauded ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a decisive military action against Pakistan that fulfilled the nation’s aspirations following the terror attack in Pahalgam.

Thakur, while addressing a gathering during the Tiranga Yatra in Mandi, said that for the first time the world had witnessed India’s resolute response to terrorism. He added, “The military action was not directed at civilians but at nine key locations known for fostering terrorism, resulting in the elimination of over 100 terrorists.”

He said, “Pakistan initiated the attack, but our armed forces retaliated effectively, destroying their weapons in the air while the Air Force targeted several of their military bases and airbases.”

Thakur described this as a significant victory that unnerved Pakistan, which then sought international mediation. “Pakistan proposed a ceasefire and we agreed to it on our terms. This operation will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated,” he added.

About the impact of ‘Operation Sindoor’, he highlighted the remarkable enthusiasm among citizens and the military alike. He said, “The purpose of this yatra is to uplift the morale of the Indian military, without any political speeches or slogans.”
