Value-based learning is vital for brighter tomorrow: Chauhan

Says state govt strengthening education through CBSE affiliation and 7,000 new teaching posts

Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, and Labour and Employment Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan today emphasised the state government’s commitment to holistic and value-based education. He presided over the annual prize distribution function of Arihant International School, Nahan.

Chauhan, while addressing the gathering, said the government was making efforts to provide qualitative, ethical and vocational education so that students could develop into confident and capable individuals. He described annual school functions as “the true reflection of an institution,” where meritorious students are recognised for their excellence and others are inspired to strive for greater achievements.

Chauhan urged students to set clear life goals with determination and participate not only in academics but also in sports, cultural and extracurricular activities for their all-round development. He also reminded attendees teachers are the true sources of inspiration for society and appealed to educators and parents to make children aware of the evils of drug abuse to build a clean and healthy social environment.

He informed the gathering that to strengthen the educational framework and instil confidence among students, the state government has introduced English-medium education from the Class I in all government schools. From the next academic session, 100 government senior secondary schools in the state will also be affiliated with the CBSE Board. Chauhan added the recruitment process for 7,000 vacant teaching posts is underway to address the shortage of teachers across the state.

Acknowledging the role of private institutions, he said both public and private schools are essential pillars in the collective effort to enhance educational standards in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Nahan MLA Ajay Solanki lauded Arihant International School as one of the leading educational institutions of Sirmaur district, known for imparting quality education along with strong moral values and creativity. He said such institutions lay the foundation for a brighter future and serve as exemplary models of discipline, leadership and character building.
