Prof HK Chaudhary, Vice Chancellor, CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, inaugurated the new office of the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) Cell here today. This cell has been entrusted with the responsibility to promote online teaching and examination via e-learning technologies.
Prof Chaudhary said the new cell would help the university in implementing new education policy and also extend assistance in digitisation of the campus. “There is a proposal to implement an e-office system and maintain the students’ record through DigiLocker system where the new cell will play an active role,” he said.
He added that the entire paper-based processes would be digitised and there was a proposal for paperless administration.
Efforts have been initiated to disseminate transcripts and degrees to students in online mode through mobile. This will be a hassle-free system where the students will be able to receive their degrees sitting at home. The ICT cell will also maintain various activities pertaining to digital resources in the university and shall also be presenting a new look feature rich interactive website of the University soon.
All statutory officials and members of the ICT cell — Professor in charge Shivani Katoch, Vaibhav Kalia, Kapil Sharma and Kunal Sood were present on the occasion.
