Vehicles fall into stream after collision, two injured

Two people were injured when a car and a pick-up jeep collided head-on and plunged into a stream at Kalhel on the Chamba-Tissa road in Chamba district on Saturday afternoon.

On hearing the sound of the vehicles colliding, nearby villagers rushed to the spot and began rescuing the occupants of the vehicles. They managed to pull the drivers of both vehicles out of the wreckage and informed the police about the incident.

Chamba SP Abhishek Yadav said that a police team was immediately dispatched to the accident site. He added that an investigation was underway to ascertain the cause of the accident.

The pick-up van driver sustained serious injuries and was referred to Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College, Chamba. The car driver suffered minor injuries and was discharged after administering first aid.
