The 27th Annual Athletics Meet of Palampur Agricultural University concluded on a high note after two days of spirited competition, showcasing exceptional athleticism, discipline and enthusiastic participation from students across the campus.

Dr GCN College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences emerged as the overall champion, securing an impressive tally of nine gold, 11 silver and nine bronze medals. Close on their heels, the College of Basic Sciences claimed the runner-up position with eight gold, three silver, and 10 bronze medals. Other strong contenders included the College of Agriculture (five gold, 10 silver, six bronze) and the College of Community Sciences (three gold, one silver, one bronze).

In the individual accolades, Shubham and Vinayak Rana were jointly named Best Athletes (Men), while Deepanshi was declared Best Athlete (Women) for her stellar performances. The meet opened with an inaugural ceremony presided over by Dr RK Kapla, Dean of Postgraduate Studies. The concluding ceremony saw Dr MC Rana, Dean of the College of Agriculture, as the chief guest. Dr Rana distributed prizes and lauded the athletes for their competitive spirit, discipline and sportsmanship.

This year’s meet featured 256 student participants competing in 25 athletic events, representing all constituent colleges of the university.

A total of 25 gold, 25 silver and 26 bronze medals were awarded over the course of the meet, making it a memorable and competitive celebration of university athletics.
