Vibrant celebrations fill Mandi streets with fervour
Holi, the festival of colours, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervour here today. Residents gathered in large numbers in front of Seri Manch to mark the occasion, applying gulal on each other as part of the celebrations.
The festivities were further enhanced with a lively DJ setup, installed by the organisers Dharmender Rana, Monika Thakur and Deep Kapoor, who ensured that there was no shortage of entertainment for the crowd.
The event at Seri Manch saw a huge turnout, particularly among the youth, who were seen dancing and throwing gulal in the air, creating an atmosphere of joy and unity. The celebrations continued until the afternoon.
To ensure peace and order during the celebrations, the Mandi district administration had deployed an adequate police force under the supervision of Mandi Superintendent of Police Sakshi Verma. The police presence helped maintain smooth and safe celebrations across the town.
As part of the traditional observances, a Shobha Yatra was carried out, featuring the town’s chief deity, Madho Rai. Devotees participated with devotion, applying gulal on the deity during the procession, which wound its way through the streets of Mandi. The festival officially came to an end with the culmination of this religious procession.
It is worth noting that in Mandi, Holi is celebrated a day before the official date, which adds to the unique charm of the festival in this region. The day concluded with warm greetings from local authorities, as Deputy Commissioner Apoorv Devgan took to social media to congratulate the residents of Mandi on the joyous occasion. Holi celebrations in Mandi have been marked by vibrant cultural activities and community participation.
