PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh visited Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur to wish him on his 60th birthday here today. Calling it a courtesy visit, the minister said he has a lot of respect for the Leader of Opposition and, thereby had come to congratulate him on his birthday. “In politics, we oppose him and the ideology of his party but there must be mutual love and respect,” said Vikramaditya.
The minister said Thakur had good relations with former Chief Minister and his father Virbhadra Singh. “Thakur had congratulated me on my birthday and I have done the same. It should continue,” he said.
The minister added said that it wasn’t a secret visit, adding that he went to congratulate Thakur at his official residence. “I don’t believe in doing anything secretly. I believe in doing things on the front foot,” he said, making it clear that no political motive should be attributed to the visit.
