Vikramaditya Singh’s remarks uncalled for: Himachal minister
Shimla, July 18
Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Sarveen Chaudhary said yesterday that no apology could be sufficient for Congress MLA Vikramaditya Singh’s remarks about a BJP woman leader at Rohru.
The minister, while addressing mediapersons here, asked Vikramaditya to clarify the meaning of the comment “sitting in the lap”. She said that this kind of a language against a woman was unacceptable.
She said that the Congress MLA could face trial if a case was registered against him. “Vikramaditya should think before speaking. Rohru is a reserved constituency for the Scheduled Castes category and such remarks should not be repeated,” she added.
The minister said that Vikramaditya’s remarks showed the mindset of Congress leaders towards women. She added that in Thana Amb recently, block Vongress leaders harassed Mandeep Kaur, a Congress worker, who lodged an FIR against her party colleagues for posting photos and videos.
