Addressing a press conference here today, Rijiju took a jibe at Congress leaders for roaming around with a small book, while pleading to save the Constitution. He said that Congress leaders talk about an undeclared emergency in the country but the fact is that all that the Opposition does every single day, from morning to evening, is to abuse PM Modi,” he said.

BJP state president Rajeev Bindal, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur and MP Suresh Kashyap were also present.

“I would like to remind Congress that when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he used to organise a tour to spread awareness about the Constitution after which the Constitution Day is celebrated on November 26 in the country. Before this, Constitution Day was never celebrated in the country,” he said.

He said a resolution has been passed by the Union Cabinet which says that democracy was murdered during the Emergency. “The government and the BJP will work to make this proposal reach the people of the country because it is the responsibility of every individual towards the country to keep the democracy alive,” he said.
